3Bee: our biodiversity partner
Enhancing the land and environment through a project dedicated to the protection of biodiversity. In 2023, the Agromonte Oasis was established in Monforte (ME), where nectariferous plants were planted, essential for providing nourishment to pollinating insects. Furthermore, in 2024, the company strengthened its partnership with 3Bee by supporting a primary school in the province of Ragusa. This three-year program aims to educate new generations on the protection of pollinating insects and biodiversity, which are essential for the health of our planet and the quality of agricultural production.
Water reuse and recycling
Water is a precious resource. In our greenhouses, we use a drip irrigation system that allows water to be distributed to each individual plant, reducing waste and overdosing. In our production facility, we use a continuous-cycle washing system with water cleaning and treatment through special filters that allow for limited water consumption. Furthermore, the use of special purifiers allows us to recycle 80% of the water, which can then be reused, preventing further waste of our water resources.
The sun of Sicily is our friend
The climatic conditions in Sicily are very favorable for most of the year. We installed 6 000 square meters of photovoltaic panels in order to use renewable energy in the production facility and in the offices. The goal is to achieve 100% self-consumption of renewable energy by 2026 by installing an additional
15 000 square meters of photovoltaic panels.
We do not like to throw away
The parts of tomato that are not processed during the production, they are used to feed animals in neighboring farms, as they are rich in lycopene, valuable for animal health.
